A GENEALOGICAL HISTORY OF THE STRAHAN FAMILY IN ATTALA COUNTY MISSISSIPPI
On February 9, 1817 Andrew Jackson Strahan was born in Screven County Georgia, the son of Moses Strahan Junior and Lucy Cassandra Cottingham. On August 7, 1823 Nancy Elizabeth Locke was born in Alabama.
These two were wed in Attala County Mississippi on the 24th of December 1841.
Of this union there were eight children born:

Family Reunions
There is a family reunion each year on the 1st Sunday of August at The New Providence Baptist Church homecoming. The Homecoming is open to any who wish to attend. There is a fundraiser each year with proceeds going to maintain the grounds of the Church and Cemetery.
